Tycho Brahe
Introduction
Tycho Brahe was born on December, 14 1546in Skane, then he movedto Denmark, then he moved to Sweden. He was the son of Otto Brahe and Beatte Bille both from families of high nobility. He was the eldest son. He was brought up by his uncle Jorgen Brahe and became his heir.He went to the Universities of Copenhagen and Leipzig. then he traveled through Germany studing for the Universities of Wittenberg, Rostock, and Basel. During this period his Interest in astronomy had grown. He started to buy astronomical instruments. Brahe lost part of his nose due to a bad deal in 1566. He wore a metal over the missing part of his nose. In 1570 he return back to Denmark.
Legacy
Tycho Brahe was interested in alchemy and astronomy was aroused, and he bought several astronomical instruments. He observed the new
star in Cassiopeia and published a tract about it. He gave a course of lectures on astronomy at University of Copenhagen in 1574. He accepted an offer from King Frederick the second to fund an observatory. He was given a island of Hven in the sont near copenhagen. That were he built his observatory, Uraniburgm in Europe. He ran his own printing press, designed and build new instruments. Tycho trained generaton of young astronomers there in the art of observing. He left Denmark after the fall out between him in King Christian the 4th. He packed all his instruments and books in 1597. In 1599 he settled Prague as the Mathematician at the court of Emperor Rudolph the second. He died here in 1601, his instruments were stored and eventually lost. His major works De Nova et Nullius Aevi Memoria Prius Visa Stella (" On the New and Never Previousley Seen Star") (Copenhagen, 1573); de Mundi Aetherei Recentiorbus Phaenomenis (" Concerning the New Phenomena in the Ethereal World") ( Uraniburg, 1588); Astronomiae Istauratae Mechania (" Instruments for the Restored Astronomy"). They did not publish his observations during his lifetime. Johanners Keplker used them but they remained the property of his heirs. Tabulae Rudolphina was published in 1627 by Johanner Kepler.

His father was a privy councillor to the King of Denmark, is uncle was in Danish navy. Before he was born his father made a strange pact to his uncle. His uncle somehow talk his father to giving his son to him. His mother had gave birth to twin boys but one of hem were a still-born. His father kept his promise but his uncle waited another year till they had another child. Tycho was brought up as a nobleman and would eventually inherit his uncle fortune. He attended the August 31st solar eclipse in 1650 at Virgp 51. An everyday conversation that he and his classmates was astrology. His uncle disapproved him liking astrology, so his uncle sent him to Leipzig and hired a tutor to look over him to make sure that he was studing law. Tycho continued to study astronomy but kept it a secret.Vedel the tutor later found out but kept it a secret and later they became good friends. He found that the Alphonsine table was a whole month off and that the Prutentic table was a few days wrong. he foung that out by looking at the angles between Saturn and Jupiter.

On November the 11th 1572 he saw the new light or the new star. He just got done making his six feet tall instrument a prototype sextant. he used it to look at the new star and found out that the new star did not move why he look to see if the new star moved because the star was so bright when everyone first saw it then it stopped being bright so he look at it and found out that it was still there. He also used to measure the old stars and the new star. that how he found out that it did not move. He wrote a book about the new star.
